The most advanced gel polymer technology
Adding gel to memory foam is a recent innovation that helps increase the support characteristics of the foam, while at the same time assisting in heat dispersion. Most gel mattresses combine small solid scrap pieces of gel with the memory foam during the foaming process. Unfortunately, this process results in the gel being loosely held in place and unevenly distributed within the foam.
Instead of using this inferior type of gel memory foam, all EcoGel mattresses use the newer second-generation gel infused memory foam. A liquid gel polymer is added to the memory foam during the foaming process, evenly coating and reinforcing the foam as it solidifies. The result is the most supportive and advanced memory foam available, and Therapedic’s EcoGel collection is the priority mattress company for this newest technology.
EcoGel memory foam is 40 percent more supportive than traditional memory foams. The unique gel infusion process allows for superior weight distribution and durability, as the gel polymer completely encapsulates the memory foam cell structure. EcoGel’s second-generation gel memory foam also provides superior pressure point relief, as it is designed to absorb and distribute pressure in addition to reducing motion transfer.
