Ever since I can remember I've been schooled in the importance of superior customer service. My dad is an entrepreneur and when I was growing up he owned the local hardware store. As I child I would work around the shop doing little things like cleaning and counting the nuts and bolts for inventory - things the grown-ups didn't want to do. After a while I graduated to stocking and display assembly. But it wasn't until I had learned enough that I was allowed to assist customers. My dad knew that it was paramount to provide expert and courteous advice to his customers, lest they take their business elsewhere. That's a lesson that has stuck with me all these years.
Since 1992, word-of-mouth has always been my best form of advertisement. Regardless of television, radio, internet or newspaper campaigns, people still trust the advice from their friends and neighbors.
