I thought I’d give everyone an update with some better looking pictures.
My staples were pulled just a few weeks after the surgery, and it feels good to have them out. My stepdaughter said I looked like Frankenstein, but I think I looked a little more like Robocop.
Now that my stitches are out, I can finally start to loose some of these scabs! Here I am just a few weeks later. The doctors say I am healing quite quickly. I should have had them do a 2-for-1 and brought in the HairClub people and had them graft in some sprouts. We’ll just have to take what we can get at this point with Beducator 2.0 (my wife wanted Beducator 10.0, but that’s an entirely different type of surgery, and the neurosurgeon had to put her in a time out after she made that suggestion).
I’ve been able to stick pretty well to the new store hours of 12-4, Monday – Saturday. There have been a few days where I’ve come in late or had to close all together due to various oncologist appointments.
My strength is coming back a bit, as well. I’m still nowhere near what I was before the surgery, but I’m able to help a little more with loading mattresses.
Things may change a bit again with my hours near the end of August, as I’m set to start radiation and chemotherapy concurrently around that time. This is supposed to knock my on my butt a little, and I know during the first few treatments they’re going to want me to rest and see how I respond, so I imagine there will be a few days where the store will need to be closed. We’ll see how it goes, and I’ll update things as best I can on the store’s Facebook page.
That’s it for now. Thank you everyone for still coming to visit the store and for your well wishes. I do appreciate it.
