The uppermost cushioning layers in the quilt panel are a bit softer, and feature 1" of copper-infused (for extra durability) polyurethane foam, and 1" of a higher-quality medium plush polyurethane foam. Beneath the quilt panel are the upholstery layers, and these add a bit of firmness to the mattress. There's a lumbar layer of visco-elastic memory foam, and then beneath that there's a 2.5" layer of a firmer 5-zone polyurethane foam.

The support core for the Key Largo Cushion Firm is a pocketed innerspring unit, which helps to offer good support while still allowing for good body conformance. This innerspring unit is surrounded by a foam encasement tub, helping to provide extra edge reinforcement and extend the overall usable sleep surface. Even though this mattress uses an innerspring, it is adjustable bed compatible.
