Shelby Township, MI – June 21, 2012 – Jeff Scheuer, owner of Mattress To Go in Shelby Township, Mich., recently completed a course from the Polyurethane Foam Association. The course dealt with the chemical composition, formulation, cellular construction and proper application of the various types of flexible polyurethane foams used in the mattress industry.
“The completion of this coursework in flexible polyurethane foam technology is yet another example of my dedication to product knowledge, and it complements the educated expert advice that you’ll only find at Mattress To Go through our industry-unique Beducation® program,” stated Scheuer.
Bob Luedeka, Executive Director of the Polyurethane Foam Association, noted that, “[These] lesson plans are for use in college and design schools. Being able to cite factual information to address product benefits and performance attributes… could be invaluable for retail salespeople.”
“A mattress has a direct impact upon one’s health, and those selling these products should have a detailed educational background in this area,” added Scheuer. “While it’s nice that our prices are the lowest and the quality of our products is superior, it’s important that we be able to explain the technology behind the newest foams while finding the mattress that best suits our customer’s specific needs. And that can’t be done through the use of computers or pressure-mapping gimmickry. It can only be accomplished when comfort consultants take the time to study and become educated – exactly what we specialize in at Mattress To Go.”
