Shelby Township, MI – February 14, 2013 – Every year thousands of children are forced to flee and live at a shelter to escape domestic violence. This disruption of home life can lead to a lonely experience, especially at nighttime, and something as simple as a new pair of pajamas can help make bedtime a little more comforting for these children. To help out, Mattress To Go is now collecting pajamas for children in our local domestic violence shelters. Please bring your donation of new pajamas, packaged underwear and socks to Mattress To Go in Shelby Township and they’ll then be donated to a local domestic violence shelter. Mattress To Go is accepting donations from now until March 31.

“Mattress To Go has always been supportive of our domestic violence shelters through our Comfort For Everyone™ campaign,” said Jeff Scheuer, owner of Mattress To Go. “And the most innocent victims of domestic violence are the children, who are often forced to flee in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes they’re wearing. It’s our goal to make the time they spend in a shelter as comfortable as possible. We’ve donated mattresses and pillows in the past, but this time we thought we’d encourage everyone in the community to get involved and help us  provide pajamas for these children. Let’s try to make it a little easier for these little ones to get some quality rest while they’re away from home.”
