Shelby Township, MI – December 6, 2011 – Mattress To Go’s industry-unique consumer mattress information program – Beducation® – was recently awarded a trademark by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, according to store owner Jeff Scheuer.

“I’m really happy and proud that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recognized the uniqueness of the video and educational products we’ve created through our Beducation® program,” Scheuer said. “The Beducation® videos, diagrams and articles I’ve created and made available are the culmination of my 20 years of research and experience in the mattress industry, and I’m always adding new and interesting content.”

A trademark is granted once a business or individual proves that their product or service originates from a unique source, and it distinguishes the products from those of other entities. “It’s taken about a year for the whole process to culminate,” Scheuer added. “I had to prove that our Beducation® offerings were unique, original and of value. In the end, the Patent and Trademark Office agreed and awarded us the type of trademark called a Service Mark. The servicemark was more appropriate for us than a trademark as our Beducation® program is a service and we don’t charge for it – all of our material is available for free on our website, as well as on our YouTube channel.
